The two-day visit featured discussions on mutual issues and interests, as well as on plans to set up state-of-the-art networks in all areas of Atlantique Telecom's operations. Talks also included joint ventures and achievements in telecom services in West Africa.
Both sides discussed the sale of 17% shares in the existing LOTENY operations in Ivory Coast to regional investors.
Atlantique Telecom owns and operates networks in 7 West African countries such as Burkina Faso, Gabon, Central African Republic, Benin, Togo, Niger and Ivory Coast. The Ivory Coast is Atlantique Telecom's newest GSM license and the network will be launched in March 2006.
Etisalat owns 50% of Atlantique Telecom and also has the management contract for ten years.
