DCCI organize a business networking meeting

The meeting attended by Mohammed H. Al Khatib Business Development Manager at DCCI, Mehendra Patel the president of building materials trading business group, Sharif Baghdadi the vice president of building and construction group and members from both groups.

Al Khatib explained that the meeting was part of DCCI's policy in organizing networking meetings in order to enhance the role of business groups and develop the business sectors through discussing the common issues between the business groups and finding the best solutions.

Al Khatib mentioned that it was the third meeting in this regard. DCCI has organized two other meetings between the car rental business group and the IBG and another meeting between foodstuff trading business group and foodstuff and beverages manufacturing business group which made good results such as creating a joint committee from the groups to follow up and solve the problems as well as activating the cooperation and coordination between the groups.

The building and construction business group discussed several issues related to both group's activities such as commercial fraud in the fake products, manipulation of the building materials standards, steel prices and the absence of control on the market the absence of the censorship on the market in terms of building materials quality and work ethics.

The meeting discussed the payment mechanism in the governmental projects and the big real estates company's contracts especially the last payment issue and the period between the date of delivering the project and receiving the final payment that affect the construction companies.

The building and construction business group members agreed on the discussed issues and expressed their interest in cooperating with the building materials trading business group through creating a joint committee to coordinate between the communities in cooperation with DCCI to approach the authorized authorities to solve the problems.

Al Khatib discussed the DCCI's plan to establish a new business group this year called building materials manufacturing business group which is an important step to enhance the role of the active business groups in the building and construction sector.
