This appointment comes at a time when Citibank, a member of Citigroup, has grown at an impressive rate during 2004 and 2005 owing mainly to a significant realignment & expansion in key distribution channels, including a strong sales team, and ever increasing personal banking offer.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sen was the Chief Operating Officer for Citibank China's Consumer business and was based in Shanghai. He has been with Citibank for over fifteen years in a variety of senior roles and has vast experience in the consumer banking industry in India and Asia Pacific. Mr. Sen holds a Bachelor of Technology degree and a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.

"I am excited at the prospect of continuing to develop what is already one of our most important and fast growing franchise in the region, thanks to a dedicated team of professionals on the ground and strong support by our clients," said Mr. Sen. "UAE is a high potential, growth market with huge opportunities in all customer segments, especially in the area of Wealth Management where we bring global, state-of-the-art expertise blended with a strong focus on customization and local knowledge."

Citibank's consumer offer provides tailor-made banking solutions to a diverse clientele. During the past 24 months, the bank doubled its proprietary ATM network across the UAE, with the total number expected to reach 50 machines by March 2006. The bank has also introduced the pioneering 8-8 branch hours during this period and revamped its sophisticated CitiPhone Banking service, a virtual branch meeting customers' diverse needs over the telephone.

The bank is currently a major player in the UAE's credit card market and a leading provider of consumer credit services. According to Visa International's quarterly member bank statistics, Citibank ranked first in number of credit cards in use as well as No. 1 issuing bank in the UAE market for retail spending across all categories of credit cards for the period ending 30 June 2005.
