Million dollar deals secured at Intersec

The region's leading security and safety event, Intersec 2006, closed today with multi-million dollar deals secured by exhibitors, say Messe Frankfurt, the event organisers.
Exhibitors have been overwhelmed with the response to this year's show. NAFFCO, who are the largest supplier of fire equipment in the Middle East and export to over 70 countries. Naffco's CEO, Khalid Al Khatib said "this year we saw double the International visitors from previous years. We have sold 10 fire trucks to Kuwait and another 20 to various other clients with an approximate value of Dhs30million."
Roger Whitting from Citytec said, "Intersec 2006 has been a tremendous success, with a hoard of visitors from the gulf region. The main attractions in Citytec's Special Equipment area of the stand were the Ls X-ray baggage screeners, EZI Truck stopper, AtlasOps Incident Management Software and the Emergency Deployment Airelight. We are currently finalising two deals worth £1 million and $1.5 million.
Norbain, who are the UK's premier brand of electronic safety equipment commented, "Intersec is truly a regional show and covers not just the Middle East but the entire region. We've had visitors from North and West Africa, North Europe, Asia as well as the Gulf and Middle East. This is our 8th year and every year we say this has been the best and we're sure this year we're going to say the same. It is truly the premier show of the region. We have met with 25 of our regional partners and have established many new opportunities."
KSA based SFFECO, speialists in fire equipment, found Intersec 2006 to be a great success. It is their fifth year exhibiting at Intersec. They found the show a chance to solidify their international presence through the contacts at Intersec, a truly international show.
The final day of the International Police, Fire and Safety Conference, focused on safety and health, commenced today at 11.00, and had a lot of interest from visitors. Key speakers included Neil Budworth, President, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, who talked about their response to the "The Importance of Safe Working Practices in the Modern World". Zyg Kowalczyk, Director of The London Resilience Team, Government Office of London talked about "Preparing for emergencies". Mr Kowalczyk made reference to London's response to 9/11 and talked about how to prepare for a catastrophic incident.
Simon Ancliffe, Managing Director, Evacuation Strategies, UK spoke on "The Safe and Effective Evacuation of Buildings". Mr Ancliffe focused on crowd management in disasters, evacuation analysis and planning, implications of terrorism and other threats for evacuation and multi building evacuation. Other speakers included Dr Williem Pieter Labuschangne, Head of Health Optimisation, Sasol Synfuels, South Africa who discussed "The Correlation between Occupational Safety and Health in the Oil and Gas Industry" and Stewart Kidd, Director Loss Prevention Ltd, UK "Health and Safety in Modern Retail and Commercial Premises".
Intersec 2006 has been an extremely successful show.
