Avaya leads global enterprise telephony market for the third quarter of 2005; targets growth in Lebanon

Avaya Inc., (NYSE:AV) a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced that for the third quarter of 2005 it has maintained global market leadership in Enterprise Telephony according to Dell 'Oro Group's IP Telephony Enterprise Report, 3Q 05.

This measurement includes both Internet Protocol (IP) telephony and traditional telephony revenues.

The report places Avaya as the leader position in Enterprise Telephony, with 19 percent of the market in the third quarter, two points ahead of the nearest competitor. In the MENA region, Avaya continues its leadership position in the Lebanon market, with new deployments in enterprise telephony as well as contact center and mobility solutions.

"It's a testament to the business benefits delivered by our solutions that Avaya has maintained leadership in this market measurement by Dell 'Oro for the past four quarters, and this growth is being borne out in key MENA markets such as Lebanon,"

said Nidal Abou-Ltaif, managing director for Avaya in the Middle East and North Africa.

"As customers in Lebanon continue to migrate to IP telephony in order to take advantage of the business process benefits that intelligent communications applications can offer, Avaya is at the forefront of creating solutions that deliver the flexibility, investment protection, security, and reliability that organizations across this market require," he added.

In Lebanon, Avaya counts among its customers a number of prominent organizations including LBC, American University of Beirut, and the Lebanese Army.

Avaya MENA recently announced a strategic customer win with Aramex, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services. The Jordan-based company, which offers a comprehensive portfolio of transportation systems ranging from international express delivery and freight forwarding to logistics and warehousing, chose the Avaya system as senior management sought new ways of enhancing communication between sites and increasing flexibility with third party vendors, customers and partners.
