The awards recognised excellence in thirteen distinct advertising and marketing categories, with the winners selected from an overwhelming 600 entries received by Campaign Middle East.

'Our heartfelt congratulations go to the winners and, of course, our warm thanks to everyone who took part in the first Campaign Middle East awards,' said Campaign Middle East magazine editor Tim Burrowes. 'The aim of the awards is to recognise excellence in the region's communications industries and I think we can safely say that the Awards have got off to a flying start.'

Jan Zijderveld, CEO of Unilever Middle East and chairman of the independent panel of jurors set up to select the awards, said: 'I believe that this event defines our region's advertising industry and reflects on the excellence we are now starting to see from that industry as it comes of age.'

The Awards were shortlisted through a process of moderated peer review, where Campaign Middle East staff worked together with some 35 executives from the communications industry in mixed discipline juries. Following shortlisting, the winners were selected by an independent panel of 14 jurors.

The Campaign Middle East Awards were sponsored by: Fujairah Media, Group Plus, Siemens, ADline, Spectrum Digital Printing Solutions, Emirates Evening Post, MBC Group, PS Media, Xerox, Mbr Worldwide, Emirates Outdoor, Marina FM, Maktoob Group and VENTUZ.
