Marriott Hotels in Jordan celebrate Arbor Day

Marriott Hotels in Jordan (Amman Marriott Hotel, Jordan Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa and the Petra Marriott Hotel) celebrated "Arbor Day" 2006.
The General Managers of the three Marriott properties inaugurated the planting of the trees in the three different locations (Amman, Jordan Valley and Petra), each property designated an area for tree planting inside the premises of the properties. The Amman Marriott Hotel divided the planting area according to department and linked the event of planning trees to the Marriott Hotels basic principles; the "Traditional Hospitality" was displayed by the House Keeping department wearing the traditional Jordan dress and explaining to the staff the benefits of green areas and the importance of trees making the celebration both fun and educational.
Attending the Jordan Valley Marriott celebration was Omar Odwan, the director of Shuneh Agriculture Department accompanied by Ali Odwan the President of the forestry in north Shuneh Agriculture department. Both officials expressed their pride and joy with Marriott Hotels' continuous initiatives and efforts particularly for the environmental issues and community services. The Jordan Valley Marriott lies in one of the most fragile eco systems in the world, all efforts to protect the area's fauna and flora is extremely needed. The General Manager of the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa thanked the officials for joining the staff and assured them of Marriott Hotels' commitment towards the community. He assured them that Marriott will always support any initiatives for making our world a better place for the future generations.
Petra Marriott Hotel added a green area in the hotel garden which overlooks the beautiful majestic Petra Mountains, managers and staff members chose trees typical from the Petra area, promising to nurture and care for those trees to enjoy their shade and freshness during the hot summers of Petra.
