Emirates Bank appoints new CEO

The Board of Directors of Emirates Bank announced the appointment of Mr. Rick Pudner as CEO of Emirates Bank, following Mr. Anis Al Jallaf's decision to retire from the Bank's services as CEO.

Mr. Al Jallaf will continue as a director of the Emirates Bank Board. The new CEO, Mr. Pudner is expected to join in April of 2006.

H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Emirates Bank Group said:
"Mr. Al Jallaf, served as Managing Director and CEO and was with Emirates Bank for more than 15 years and has continuously strived to ensure the success of the Group year after year. The dedication and commitment of Mr. Al Jallaf were exemplary and his innovative ideas had a cutting edge in a vibrant and dynamic UAE market. The initiatives undertaken over time have today emerged as recognized brands, winning appreciation and awards within banking circles. Mr. Al Jallaf will continue to serve as a director of the Emirates Bank Board".


Welcoming the new Emirates Bank CEO, H.E. Al Tayer added, "Mr. Pudner, has been a Career Banker with HSBC for over 24 years. He brings with him a wealth of General Banking expertise ranging from Corporate, Capital Markets, Credit, Trade Services, Cash Management, Operations and has recently built a Retail Banking business in Korea".

Mr. Pudner has worked with HSBC in over 11 different geographic regions from the U.K., UAE and all the way upto Korea. His vast General Management expertise would facilitate Emirates Bank's growth in the years to come.
