Woods will join forces with the tournament winner - if it's not Woods himself - and His Excellency Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Golf in DUBAI (GiD), the event's promoters and organisers, to take part in the putting competition prior to the prize-giving presentation at the Emirates Golf Club.

Each of the three will have one putt from a position some 100ft from the 18th hole. Should any of the players manage the feat, a cheque for $1 million will be awarded to the Sheikh Maktoum Golf Foundation, which has been newly created to provide scholarship opportunities for up-and-coming UAE national golfers.

'This is a unique and innovative way to establish the Sheikh Maktoum Golf Foundation,' said Golf in DUBAI Vice Chairman Mohamed Buamim. 'We have many young UAE nationals who have the skills to be a professional golfer - we think that such scholarship opportunities will help take them to the next level.'

Even if none of the three manage to sink the monster putt, the Sheikh Maktoum Golf Foundation is certain to benefit after Woods suggested he sign two golden putters that will be auctioned online at www.dubaidesertclassic.com.
