Property owners in Ajman are being urged to fully cooperate and register their properties with the newly formed Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited who will build and operate the first ever modern sewerage system in the Emirate.

Dhs 515 Million Investment To Bring Significant Economic and Environmental Benefits to Property Owners and Residents of Ajman

Property owners in Ajman are being urged to fully cooperate and register their properties with the newly formed Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited who will build and operate the first ever modern sewerage system in the Emirate.

A team of 40 people operating on behalf of the company, with support and guidance from Ajman Municipality, are now undertaking the biggest census exercise ever conducted in the Emirate to identify and register the owners of the estimated 40,000-plus properties in Ajman.

Under the regulations of the recently enacted Sewer Law by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuami, The Ruler of Ajman, every property owner must register their property with the Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited and later pay a compulsory connection fee.

Emphasising the benefits of the project, Ajman Sewerage Company General Manager Mr. Kelvin Moon said: "In the 21st Century and in a hot and arid climate like ours, modern sanitation systems are essential to safeguard the health of people living in the Emirate and to protect the long-term environment of Ajman.

"The project will also bring major economic benefits to Ajman and we are urging all property owners in the Emirate to co-operate fully with the registration that is now underway and being conducted with the full support of the Ajman Government."

The registration team are now leaving registration forms for both residential and commercial properties in buildings across Ajman and returning two days later to collect completed forms and, if required, to help owners and tenants to complete the forms.

Once completed the registration exercise will ensure that the correct infrastructure is connected to every property in the Emirate so everyone in Ajman will be able to benefit from the Dhs 515 million project.

The registration exercise aims to discover who is the owner of every property and details about individual properties. Every owner is required by the regulations of the Sewer Law to complete a detailed form that will include the exact location of the property, number of floors and bedrooms and the type of use for which the property is used - be it residential or commercial.

The modernisation programme will involve the building a state of the art sewerage treatment plan in Ajman, more than 15 individual pumping stations and laying over 200km of pipelines to connect the properties to the system. It will take an estimated four years to complete the project and the main treatment plant is expected to open in 2005.
