- PRESS RELEASE
BenQ Middle East, the region's leader in digital lifestyle products, announced today that it has been awarded the group's accolade of 'Country of the Year' based on its significant growth in profits, revenue and brand positioning in the regional market.
Brand Positioning had strong results across all major product lines with LCD monitors scooping the number 1 position in Egypt, number 2 position in the UAE & KSA, and the third in the rest of Middle East & Africa.
Similarly, scanners currently occupy the number one spot in the UAE, whilst BenQ Projectors hold the top position in KSA & Pakistan (second in the UAE). LCD TVs ranked fourth in both the UAE & KSA.
"It has been a phenomenal year and to be recognized within the scope of the worldwide BenQ corporation vindicates the efforts and strides we have taken to build our operations here in the Middle East," said Robert Dung MD, BenQ - ME.
BenQ Middle East attributes its success in 2005 to three areas that have helped realize its laudable growth. BenQ says that it was made clear that very strictly controlled ROI (Return on Investment) was paramount across its operations for 2005, close (weekly) monitoring of its ADS (Average Daily Sales) and keeping channel profitability a priority so that BenQ's business partners also benefited have all contributed to the success in 2005.
The figures released justify these measures as sales increases do not always yield an automatic indication of greater profitability. However, BenQ's sales increases of 35 percent offset against the greater 50 percent increase in profitability demonstrate that it is not only meeting but moreover excelling within its tightened strategic objectives.
"Our success in 2005 clearly reflected a sound business plan. For this year, we hope to buid on that success and make even further inroads into the regional market," Dung concludes.
