MEFTEC 2006, the second Financial Technology Exhibition and Conference, will be convened under the patronage of Bahrain Monetary Agency Governor H.E. Rasheed Al-Maraj, while GOVTEC 2006, the Middle East's premier event for e-government and public sector reinvention, is taking place under the auspices of the Central Informatics Organisation.
Batelco is a platinum sponsor for the event and as a key exhibitor will be represented by a team of specialists led by ANIS CEO Yaqoob Al Awadhi. ANIS (Arabian Network Information Services) is solely owned by Batelco and is the vehicle through which Batelco approaches the ICT (Information & Communication Technology) market in the Kingdom and the region.
'Batelco's support for this event demonstrates our commitment to the economic success and development of the Kingdom,' said Batelco Chief Executive Peter Kaliaropoulos.
Batelco will be unveiling their new Data Centre at the event. The state-of-the-art Data Centre, a boon for the business community, is a secure physical structure that acts as a tangible insurance against disasters such as fire, power failure, cyber-crime, network connectivity loss, system failures etc.
Batelco's team will also present a range of the Company's newest enhancements including the latest advancements in ICT, Global IPVPN (Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network) and their MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) capabilities.
The centre piece of MEFTEC is a highly specialised exhibition featuring the complete spectrum of cutting-edge technology solutions for the banking & financial industry, from core banking solutions to payment systems.
GOVTEC will address the public sector's most pressing strategic and technical issues while showcasing a comprehensive gallery of solutions geared to meet those challenges.
Attracting over 110 exhibitors, including the world's foremost technology vendors, the event is the Middle East's launch pad for innovative technologies from across the globe, and a platform for industry decision-makers to identify new technology partners.
A conference, taking place alongside the exhibition, will bring together the industry's leading minds to present new ideas and insights on how to achieve the highest profits from the use of technology in strategy, product design, customer services, competition and risk management.
Held under the theme Moving from Technology Possibilities to Top-Line Growth, the 2006 conference focuses on three main areas: a global technology insight with a specific focus on regional challenges; insights on the future of technology; and the applied use of financial services technology in the form of examples and case studies.
'We are confident that the combined MEFTEC and GOVTEC exhibitions will prove to be an unsurpassed opportunity for all attendees to learn about the latest technology innovations that continue to change at a rapid pace,' said Mr Kaliaropoulos.
