World CEO Forum is launched

World CEO Forum was launched yesterday in attendance of businessmen and CEOs from many countries around the world in the conference Center at Jumaira Beach Hotel.

Abdulrahman G. Al Mutaiwee the Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry DCCI delivered the keynote speech in the forum. He explained that the forum is considered as a perfect platform for the CEOs to meet with their counterparts from around the globe and explore the biggest challenges Dubai went through and the struggles the CEOs in the entire world face today and, how to shape and adapt changes of global trends.

Al Mutaiwee added "holding this conference at this time coincides with a number of economic trends, The rising of the oil prices, which reached a peak level of $66 per barrel in 2005, has brought prosperity to all oil exporting economies, including UAE, and it has encouraged regional governments to diversify their oil-based economies into non-oil areas, such as construction and tourism". "Meanwhile, political, social and economic reforms, including privatization and liberalization, are being instituted to keep with the changes. Real estates and stock markets are booming, these advantages have placed Dubai at the forefront of the global dynamic and emerging market economies not only on local, but at regional and international levels" Al Mutaiwee said.

Al Mutaiwee highlighted Dubai government policy that had been proved in diversifying the economy. He explained the establishment of Dubai Financial Market (DFM), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) and Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC) is a functional interpretation of this policy.

Al Mutaiwee indicated that the overall growth that Dubai is witnessing is continuous and demonstrates the ability to improve and expand. He added presently Dubai is implementing a number of strategic key projects in order to sustain its competitiveness and leading position as an international business hub through over 100 billion dollars development oriented projects are either under implementation or in the phase of planning and approval. Among those is Jebel Ali Air port (Dubai Logistics City), Dubai Airport Expansion, Dubai train, Dubai industrial park, Dubai Land and various real estate and tourism infrastructure projects.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum the founder, President and chairman A1 motor racing worldwide talked in the Forum. He highlighted the idea of the race how it developed, he made a comparison between the A1 and formula one races in terms of cost, revenues and future expectations.

Rohit Talwar the chairman of the conference talked about the future vision of the world economy in 2035 and the changes which are expected in the biggest economies in the world.

The list of speakers includes many CEOs from different countries and chairmen of CEOs clubs around the world.
