Dubai Municipality to build Dhs34 million multi-story car parking in Al Sabkha

Dubai Municipality is building a multi-story car parking at a cost of Dhs34 million in Al Sabkha area in a bid to solve a shortage of parking lots in this part of the busy central business district (CBD) of Deira.
"Al Sabkha is one of the busiest areas in the Deira CBD. Parking has always been a problem in this area and the new project would contribute to an extent in solving this. Besides, the availability of such a vast parking area will also help reduce traffic congestion," said Mr. Bukhash.
He noted that three-story parking complex with a total area of 20,000 square meters would offer a total of 470 parking spaces.
"As per the design, the entire basement, which will be dedicated for long-term parking users, consists of 105 parking spaces. The ground floor, most of which will be used as commercial shops and for public utilities, will have only 32 parking spaces. The first floor will 99 parking spaces while the second and third floors will have a total of 114 and 121 parking spaces respectively," said Mr. Bukhash.
He added that parking spaces in the three upper stories will be dedicated for short-term users.
Dubai's busy business districts in Deira and Bur Dubai already have six multi-story car parking complexes. They are located in Riqqat Al Butine (behind Al Khaleej Hotel), Bani Yas area (near Deira Tower), Bani Yas Square (near Florida Hotel), Bani Yas Street (near Dubai Municipality Museum), Naif Street (opposite Naif Police Station), and Al Ghubaiba (near Ministry of Finance building).
