Al Shaheen Club, Emirates Bank's priority banking service- aims to top last year's total donations to the Red Crescent by setting itself a target of AED 100,000 for this year.

Louis Scotto, Emirates Bank General Manager Retail Banking commented on the occasion, "Emirates Bank is very happy to sponsor, through its Al Shaheen Club, the Charity Putting Competition for the third consecutive year. We see the Dubai Desert Classic as the perfect platform for Charity Activity especially with the heavy volume of guests which attend this prestigious, world-wide event. With the presence of Tiger Woods this year, we are expecting a greater number of people at the event and hopefully, a great number of participants at our Putting Competition."

With the donation of AED 10 to the Red Crescent, amateur golfers are offered the chance to test their putting skills at one of the PGA Tour's most prestigious golf tournaments. Prizes will be presented to the golfers who achieve the best results. All funds raised from the putting competition will be donated to the Red Crescent Charity.

"The sponsorship of the Dubai Desert Classic, which sees the arrival of many of the world's top ranked players, is proof of Al Shaheen Club's continued commitment to supporting and promoting prestigious sports events across the region." Added Scotto.

Emirates Bank invites everybody to participate in the putting competition for a little bit of fun- for a very worthy cause. The Al Shaheen Club's Charity Putting Competition will run for the duration of the Dubai Desert Classic- Thursday 2nd February - Sunday 5th February, 2006.
