  • PRESS RELEASE

ITQAN, the UAE-leading system integrator and the Microsoft Golden Partner and Large Accounts Reseller, announces the award of a major Microsoft Volume Licensing Enterprise Agreement with ETISALAT to provide the Ministry of Finance and Industry and all affiliated Federal entities with a day-to-day management of the enterprise agreement.

The enterprise agreement provides MOFI and Affiliates with a standard and professional desktop configuration to include the Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and the Core Client Access licenses. In addition to the standard desktop configuration, the agreement also provides MOFI and Affiliates users with access to the full suite of Microsoft Office Automation products.

The advantages to MOFI and Affiliates, as a result of this award, include a reduction in the costs associated with deployment, implementation and maintenance, while providing for a more standard desktop environment. In addition, the agreement will provide a common e-mail solution that will support the enhanced communication across the different entities activities.

MOFI and Affiliates will also realize operational efficiencies in the areas of acquisition management and support, software licensing and upgrades, asset management and training, as well as facilitating the ability of the employees to more effectively collaborate and function as a single enterprise.

"Personal computers have become such an integral part of the working experience, that for employees to be fully engaged in their work means they must have easy access to sophisticated software," says ITQAN's GM Feras Al Jabi.

"We view software as a basic tool of work, just as vital to the employees and managers as paper and pen. If you provide employees early on with the tools they need to be successful, then you establish for them continuity and stability that will benefit them well into their working years and beyond. Employees need to be more than 'computer literate' - they need to be 'technology adept.' This agreement sets us clearly in that direction, by allowing all of us to talk to each other in a common digital language."

ITQAN's experience as a Microsoft Large Account Reseller, along with 22 years of experience supporting local UAE government and Enterprises through the MS Enterprise agreement, places it in a unique position to assist MOFI and Affiliates with this new EA.

As a nationwide solution provider, ITQAN is well positioned to consult on the acquisition and enrollment process associated with the EA. Our Microsoft Practice Solutions group also offers solutions such as "Developing a Migration Solution for Enterprise Agreements" to help clients deploy and make full use of Microsoft's technology. "MOFI applauds the innovation behind the creation of this agreement as a solution to meet the technology needs of the federal government," says Mohammad Qambar, the IT Manager at MOFI. "The EA is an excellent example of how MOFI and Affiliates leaders will use technology to revolutionize the government working experience, and we are committed to working with these entities to find new ways to help them make technology decisions that best fit the needs of their institutions. We think the MS EA is a great model for UAE federal government institutions to consider as they work to simplify the process of selecting, managing and supporting technology so they can focus more time and energy on the support of the public."
