- PRESS RELEASE
His Excellency Obeid Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), recently chaired an inclusive meeting of the Chamber's Executive Committee.
The meeting was held to discuss the implementation of its annual plans and ways to meet its requirements to help carry out its strategic activities in accordance with the Chamber's vision, goals and policy.
The Executive Committee supervises the Chamber's activities and the implementation of the decisions and instructions of the Board of Directors. It also studies reports, suggestions and recommendations presented by the committees or the Chamber's management, and it also coordinates the information contained therein before presenting them to the Board.
The Committee proposes the necessary statutes and internal bye-laws to the Board for adoption, besides any other functions provided for by the Executive Statute of the law on the establishment of the Chamber.
"The meeting was quite encouraging where the heads of the DCCI's departments acknowledged the quick response and continuous effective communication between them and the members of the Executive Committee, through being able to propose the plans of their departments and their interest over responding to the directives of the Executive Committee," said Al Mutaiwee.
Heads of the DCCI's departments, which include the Department of Commercial Services, Information Technology and Communication Department, Department of Business Promotion, Department of Business Development, Department of Human Resources, Department of Accounts and Finance, Department of Administrative Affairs, Department of Public Relations and Events, Quality Control Unit, Dubai International Arbitration Center and Dubai Ethics Resource Center, discussed the activities and transactions carried out in their departments in 2005 and the new plans and business programs which they are going to implement this year.
A similar meeting is scheduled to be held next April to discuss the activities carried out during the first quarter of 2006 and to ensure the process of executing the scheduled programs on time.
The Executive Committee urged the DCCI's departments to have their plans and related budgets for 2007 to be ready by next September, in order to be considered by the president and members of the committee for approval.
