US energy independence aims

Exxon Mobil Senior VP Stuart McGill told an energy conference in Houston that the US will rely on imports of fuel for its energy needs for the foreseeable future, and should forget about trying to become energy independent, reported Reuters. US President George Bush told congress that America needed to slash its Middle East crude imports by 75% by 2025 by developing alternate energy sources.
