This new award will be given to any owner or developer of a Middle East based mixed use development which includes 4 or 5 star hotel components. Judges will evaluate the level of synergy between the key business activities whilst assessing the impact of the design within the local environment and the overall economic effect of the initiative to the given location.
More than 200 four and five-star hotels from across the region are expected to compete for awards in 15 categories, including best new hotel and best hotel design project, with a special award for the Middle East Hotel of the year.
"Over the last few years the DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards have celebrated the extraordinary developments and achievements of the Middle East hotel industry," said DEPA Chief Executive Officer, Mohannad Sweid. "The Awards have acted as a catalyst for the growth and development of the hotel industry by providing recognition for the leading hotels and by providing inspiration to the industry."
Chairman of the international judging panel, Stephen Head, Managing Partner, Conseil International Ltd, UK says; "From all points of the Middle East hospitality has existed for centuries, but in this third millennium the region is creating new levels of experience for foreign and domestic clients alike, whilst setting competitive benchmarks for the industry worldwide."
Winners of the DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards will be announced at an elaborate gala dinner at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel on May 3rd.
