- Iraq: Wednesday, February 01 - 2006 at 13:56
- PRESS RELEASE
The second year after the beginning of the RIRP program shows that, the need for European companies to position themselves in the competitive environment in Iraq is more important than ever.
The latest events however demonstrate vividly how important it is to work with local employees who generate new business and monitor and manage new and ongoing projects on site.
Currently 17.000 Iraqi executives and specialists from all branches are registered with RIRP. In addition to this the RIRP has about 40.000 qualified engineers at its disposal through the cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Through this cooperation and engagement the RIRP and the German Industry contribute to the rebuilding of Iraq.
In this connection the training initiatives, organized and supported by the RIRP become more and more important for the participating companies. These trainings ensure that the Iraqi specialists are in the best possible position to represent the companies on site in the most efficient way. The successful working relationship between AGEF (Association of Experts in the Fields of Migration and Development Cooperation) and the RIRP assure that the selected candidates receive the best possible training for their intended tasks.
Due to its growing network within the Near and Middle East region and its cooperation with nearly all Iraqi officials and ministries, the RIRP will also in the coming year ensure that adequate candidates will be chosen for every member company.
The proven and successful strategic cooperation with GIC (German Industry and Commerce) will guarantee a further opening of the Iraqi market for RIRP member companies. To strengthen the cooperation and to consolidate the activities, the RIRP and GIC decided to open an office pool in the centre of Baghdad. In this connection and to bundle the interests for the German Industry in Iraq in the most efficient way, Mr. Abdul-Hadi Mohamad appears as the representative for RIRP and GIC in Iraq.
