New-look Careers UAE designed to provide enhanced visitor experience

With interest in Careers UAE 2006, the region's largest and most comprehensive training, education, recruitment and employment platform growing incrementally, organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has decided to sectorise the exhibition according to industry zones to enable greater targeted marketing for exhibitors and better navigation through the halls for visitors.

Careers UAE, schduled from April 23 to 25 this year at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, will now be conveniently divided into nine zones featuring banks, insurance companies, oil and gas sector, aviation and transport, trading groups, training institutions, education, recruitment agencies and tourism and hospitality establishments.

'We have witnessed a tremendous response to Careers UAE over the years, especially with the growing interest in Emiratisation across all sectors of the economy,' said Trixee Loh, General Manager Exhibtions, DWTC. 'Both public and private sector establishments regard Careers UAE as a key platform to meet with and recuit talented Emiratis. An increasing number of university students and young Emirati professionals too take advantage of the exhibition to scout career options, keep up with the latest trends in the job market and examine training and career - enhancement opportunities,' she added.

'To meet with this increased interest and keeping in mind that we expect more than 15,000 visitors this year, we decided to sectorise the exhibition to enhance the exhibitor and visitor experience as a whole,' said Asma Al Sharif, Assistant International Project Manager, DWTC.

Banks will form the largest zone in Careers UAE 2006 with 22 of them being represented at the exhibition, including HSBC, Standard Chartered, National Bank of Dubai and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank to name a few. The trade zone is the next biggest with 16 exhibitors, seven of which are taking part for the first time. Leading participants from the trade sector include Majid Al Futtaim Group, Al Tayer, Al Nadoodah, Gargash Enterprises and Al Futtaim Group.

In order to effectively reach the emerging pool of Emirati talent and put them in touch with prospective employers, Careers UAE will be continuing its partnership with TANMIA - National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority, Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), Zayed University (ZU) and UAE University.

Students, job seekers, those in search of training oportunities, HR professionals and exhibitors attending Careers UAE can also look forward to a large number of interesting workshops and seminars that are being held alongside the exhibition itself. These will cover a wide range of topics from career development opportunities to the latest job trends emerging in the market.

Careers UAE 2006, which is being supported by Platinum Sponsor by Dubai Aluminium Company (Dubal), Gold Sponsors' HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank and Silver Sponsor the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), has drawn interest from over 140 participating companies.
