DM to organize three training courses this week

Dubai Municipality is organizing three training courses for its staff this week as part of its ongoing internal training programme for the year 2006.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Acting Head of Human Resources Development Section in the Personnel Department said the courses come as part of Municipality's efforts to equip its staff with advanced skills in their respective areas of service.

Al Zarouni said the course called "Developing and managing productive working groups" would be organized from 8am to 2pm on 11th February at the Jumeirah Beach Park and would be attended by a group of 20 female employees from the Finance Department of the municipality.

He said the course is aimed at increasing the knowledge on the role and impact of working groups in establishments. It would also brief the participants on the modern methods of forming dynamic working groups and collective behaviour in work.

Al Zarouni said the second course "Enhancing leadership skills" would be organized in two sessions from 8am to 2pm during 11 to 12 and 13 to 14 February at Al Rashidiya Public Library. Each session would be attended by 25 employees, who include heads of sections and units from different departments of the municipality.

He said the course is aimed at providing the participants with the knowledge on administrative processes and leadership skills and help them enhance their futuristic thinking.

The third course, "Skills of delivering effective presentations" would be organized from 8am to 2pm during 12 to 14 February at the Municipality Staff Club. The course would be attended by 10 administrative officers from different sections and departments of the municipality.

Al Zarouni said the course is aimed at teaching the participants the objectives, aspects and means of delivering presentations as one of the effective communication methods. The participants would be taught the art of delivering presentations and the skills of facing dialogues and also the methods of using audio-visual equipments. In addition, the participants will also be able to enhance their confidence in facing the audience.
