Acer 'Empowering People'

Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. will showcase its latest range of computing solutions under the 'Empowering People' theme at the 22nd annual GITEX, this year taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center exhibition halls from 13 through 17 of October.
The company's revamped exhibition stand, located at B3-1, Hall 3, will focus on latest SME and enterprise products and solutions. The stand will also contain an upstairs receiving lounge where serious visitors to the stand will be hosted by Acer's expert sales staff.
"Acer has a wide variety of latest leading-edge technology to offer the business and home computing user, and GITEX 2002 is our opportunity to demonstrate to them how these technologies can truly empower them," said Emanuele Accolla, Managing Director, Acer Middle East and Africa.
Accolla added: "We welcome the chance to educate the region's business community about our four, award-winning product lines, as well as our complementary 'Acer Value-Added Services."
Acer will be featuring its server, mobile, desktop, and home computing technologies for Middle East users.
Acer offers technologically advanced and latest general-purpose servers as well as a rack optimized and storage servers It also offers complementary solutions, from clustering and rack environments to storage and third-party applications.
Acer notebooks offer more than just mobility, they present users with wireless LAN, Bluetooth, and security features as well. On the consumer side, Acer offers the latest Aspire series, while as for the corporate user, Acer offers the latest high end TravelMate series Notebooks .
New this year at GITEX is the Acer TravelMate 100 Tablet PC. "A perfect integration of human's natural and practical needs, the Acer TravelMate 100 revolutionizes the conventional way of using a mobile PC with the direct pen-input feature. Moreover, the embedded wireless and convertible panel make the TravelMate 100 a genuine mobile PC. ," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd..
The famous TravelMate 100, also known as the convertible style Tablet PC, has been widely reported in international IT media and tradeshow articles; however, this is the first time for Acer to demonstrate this mobile PC in public in Middle East, along with seminars for discussion. Already bagging the "Best Mobile PC Award" at Computex Taipei 2002, Acer's TravelMate 100 mobile PC is set to revolutionize the mobile PC market.
Acer will also showcase its latest offereing in PDA. Acer PDA enables users to surf the Internet in a wireless LAN environment, with the potential feature of mobile video conferencing.
On the desktop range, this year the PC giant will be showcasing models from its award-winning Veriton line. Acer will be demonstrating solutions on Veriton line up for mainstream market and for the high-end segment as well. Related solutions include wireless LAN, as well as hardware and software security features.
Finally, for the home user, Acer offers a wide range of technologies, but will be highlighting its recently launched Aspire G600 desktop PC. Acer has focused on four major criteria for developing this new generation of consumer PCs - entertainment, digital compatibility, individualization, and ease of use. Acer's participation in GITEX 2002 will also highlight its renewed commitment to paying closer attention to its customers' needs, in line with the global corporate citizen spirit that Acer cherishes. Acer will be engaged in a number of additional activities in GITEX 2002 to further reflect this message to its customers.
Acer will be sponsoring the show's Press Room, a Web-enabled facility. Acer will equip this area with the latest Internet-enabled Acer PCs, which will help press reporters to send the latest news online.
For the fourth successive year, and to make GITEX 2002 more visitor-friendly, Acer will be offering visitors to the exhibition the facility of off-site registration approximately five days before the show commences. Visitors can make use of specially located counters for registration at five locations in Dubai: Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai Airport, and Emirates Towers, Crowne Plaza, and Al Bustan Rotana hotels.
