DCCI receives a Trade Delegation from Romania

To enhance the trade and economic ties between Dubai and the Republic of Romania, Sultan Lootah, Director of Business Promotion Department received yesterday a Romanian trade delegation.
"Dubai, thanks to its key strategic location in the Gulf that connects the world with huge and promising markets in the Middle East, Africa and Indian sub-continent, managed to switch to be a significant trade and economic center attracting investments of different types, as well as turning into a vibrating financial center in the Middle East after it attracted a number of financial experts and institutions," said Lootah.
Through a presentation, he briefed the Romanian delegation to the investment atmosphere and the facilities Dubai delivers to the business community, in addition to the DCCI's role in enhancing the economic movement in Dubai, supporting the businessmen's eagerness to develop their activities, providing investors with opportunities and enabling them to communicate and interact with local, regional and international circles.
He confirmed that the Romanian companies must participate in the commercial exhibitions held regularly in Dubai for the opportunity to promote their products and services, as the events are visited by businessmen from the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
Lootah explained the role the DCCI plays in delivering all types of support through guiding its members to adopting the best methods to broaden their businesses and increase their investments, due to the investment atmosphere Dubai provides, based on the developed infrastructures of telecoms, roads, IT and world-class services, no to mention the political, economic and social stabilities, non-taxation on personal and corporate levels, and freedom of transferring funds.
Mr. Onario Nan, the Counselor at the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Romania, thanked the DCCI for the hospitality and warm reception accorded to him and the accompanying delegation, and stressed the importance of this visit due to the vital role it plays in enhancing the trade and economic ties between Dubai and Romania.
It is worth noting that Dubai's foreign non-oil trade with Romania for the year 2004 was over AED360 million ($98 million), Dubai's re-exports to Romania were over AED60.29 million ($16.41 million), Dubai's exports to Romania were over AED1.24 million ($339 thousand), and Dubai's imports from Romania were over AED298.7 million ($81.33 million) in the same year.
