Asian wedding pavilion at Perfect Wedding Show to focus on contemporary trends of Asian traditional weddings
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, February 15 - 2006 at 11:54
- PRESS RELEASE
The Perfect Wedding Show, which begins at Expo Centre Sharjah on February 21, 2006, will host a dedicated Asian Wedding pavilion.
"The GCC region, especially the UAE, has a significant Asian expatriate population. Though away from home country, they are still deeply rooted in their cultures and traditions," said Mr. Vasu Gangadaran of APEX Creations, an India-based consultancy firm that partners conceptualised events with exhibition organisers in the Middle-East and around the world.
The Asian Wedding Pavilion is one such pilot project that the Expo Centre Sharjah has accepted for their Perfect Wedding Show.
"It is also a fact that a very large number of Asians in the region are of marriageable age and enter in to wedlock during their stay in the region. However, despite the imposing presence, there are hardly any events that can claim to be solely focusing on the wedding related needs of this community in the Gulf. The Asian Wedding pavilion will attempt to fill that void," he added.
The Asian Wedding Pavilion will not only showcase the entire range of Asian traditional wedding related industries and services but will also present the current wedding trends from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
In other words, the Asian Wedding Pavilion will cater to the complete requirements of a typical Asian Wedding.
"There exist very strong similarities in the attire and wedding customs across Asia. However, the Asian Wedding pavilion would be presenting them in a way that will not only be unique but eye-catching as well. It will reflect the various moods, textures and colours prevalent to the native country," said Mr. Vasu.
"The Asian Wedding pavilion will undoubtedly be the most ideal platform for sourcing Asian wedding related products and services in the region," he added.
The Asian Wedding pavilion is being presented by none other than the World's largest matrimonial service provider - Shaadi.com.
Speaking of the partnership, Mr. Vinesh Nair, Country Manager - MEPak, Africa and Asia-Pacific said: "In the last year, we have focused on tailoring our service to suit our customers' requirements in the Middle East. The Asian Wedding pavilion will give us the necessary platform to showcase our bundle of services and interact with our existing and potential customers in the region."
Though mainly focused on the Asian expatriate community in the Gulf, the pavilion will also attract considerable interest from the local Arab population visiting the concurrently held Perfect Wedding Show.
The Perfect Wedding Show is a full fledged four-day event showcasing every product and service that goes in to making an Arabic wedding complete.
"With a mix of both traditional and modern products, the Perfect Wedding show will be an ideal event to visit for to be married Arab couples and their families who are keen to retain their traditions and culture while maintaining a modern image and feel for the wedding," said Ms. Taghreed Khallaf, B2C shows, Expo Centre Sharjah.
Besides exhibiting Arabic wedding products and services by international and local manufacturers and suppliers, the Perfect Wedding Show will host professionally choreographed daily fashion shows, projecting both contemporary and traditional styles.
It is estimated that 25,000 marriages take place in the UAE annually. The budget of an Emirati marriage is among the highest in the region.
The Perfect Wedding Show is being organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
