Egyptian Minister of Information and Technology visits Batelco stand at Cairo ICT 2006

The Egyptian Minister of Information and Technology Dr. Tareq Kamel paid a visit to Batelco's stand during Cairo ICT 2006, which took place at the Cairo International Conference Centre from February 5th to 8th.
Batelco Egypt Communications (S.A.E.), Batelco's joint venture in Egypt, was launched during Cairo ICT 2004 to offer specialised services enabling Egyptian based companies to do business globally.
Cairo ICT's exhibition and forum attracted the region's top players and world leading companies in the fields of Telecommunications, Information Technology, Networking, Computing and Broadcast Technology.
Mr. Zainal participated in an open panel discussion at the opening day's forum which featured Telecom Liberalisation in the Arab World as the topic.
A number of crucial topics, including 3rd generation technology, ICT, satellite technology, VOIP (Voice over the Internet), electric signature legislation, cashless societies, call centres and storage issues were discussed at this year's forum.
More than 150 international and regional exhibitors took part in the event.
For the third year running Batelco's delegation promoted the Company as the key regional provider of integrated communication solutions. Cairo ICT's exhibition and forum was also the vehicle in which anis (Arabian Network Information Services), a leading regional systems and network integrator owned by Batelco, delivered the objective of building awareness within the MENA region as an ICT player.
Batelco representatives presented a range of the Company's newest enhancements including the latest advancements in ICT, Global IPVPN (Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network) and MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) capabilities. Batelco's new Bahrain based Data Centre was also unveiled to visitors at the event.
