Brazilian Television films three-episode series on Dubai's sports facilities

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) as part of its endeavour to promote Dubai as the sports capital of the Middle East hosted a three-member crew from Brazilian television Globo TV recently.

The visiting crew from the television channel-- which has a viewership of 50 million in Brazil, Europe and in North and South America-- is currently shooting a three-episode series on Dubai's world class sporting facilities attracting sports stars and enthusiasts from different countries

The television series will be titled "Sports Spectacular" and each episode will be of a duration of 30 minutes. The three-member crew consisted of Karina Ajuz, Producer, Marcio Silva, cameraman and Daniela Monteiro, the host of the show.

The crew members were taken around in a helicopter by the Dubai Police Air Wing helping them to take aerial and panoramic shots of Dubai and its mega sports facilities.

The Brazilian sports community in Dubai was also invited by DTCM for a dhow cruise dinner along with members of the visiting television crew.

The Brazilian crew also made a trip to the Al Nasr Sports club to interview reputed Brazilian footballer Valdir of Al Nasr Club.

Dubai has seen some of the best sports facilities coming up in Dubai in recent times It now boasts of the region's premier golf courses like the Emirates Golf Club, the Montogomerie, Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, Dubai Country Club, Jebel Ali Hotel and Golf Resort along with the Al Badia Golf Resort which is coming up as the first phase of the Dubai Festival City Resort.

The Dubai Sports City is the latest and the most promising sports development in the emirate. Hosted within the new Dubailand complex due to open in 2007 Dubai Sports City will bring together an exceptional combination of the sports, lifestyle, leisure, commerce and enterprise. The Nad Al Sheba is home to the world's richest horse race, the Dubai World Cup

Mr. Hamad bin Mejren, DTCM Manager Missions said :"Dubai has now become one of the leading sports destinations of the world and we take pride in the fact that the Brazilian crew is shooting a three-episode series on Dubai and its sports facilities."

He also thanked the Dubai Police Air Wing for helping to arrange flights for the televisioncrew members. In 2004, the Dubai Police Air Wing helped DTCM in organizing flying missions for 14 groups of journalists while in 2005 the number of journalists and members of television crew increased to 39.
