- PRESS RELEASE
A group of architecture and urban design students from Harvard University is visiting the country to take Dubai's urban designing as a case study for their Master's programme.
The delegation was headed by Rodolfo Machado, Professor of Urban Designing at the university, who said the students team would visit as many locations as possible to get a feel of the city's urban planning and architectural styles. The delegation consists of 13 students of nine nationalities.
Eng. Rashad Bukhash, Director of General Projects Department at the municipality, said the students' team was briefed on some of the projects that have been already undertaken or that are currently under construction.
"The students also toured the Projects Exhibition at the municipality headquarters where miniature replicas of Dubai's architecture wonders are displayed. They showed huge interest in these projects and are currently touring sites of these projects that are scattered from Jebel Ali to the borders of Sharjah with a view to know them from close," said Bukhash.
Machado said the students would incorporate features of Dubai's modern and traditional architecture into their master's thesis. He said similar visits were done in the past to cities in Europe and Asia including Singapore and Malaysia.
