Opec calls 1.89% oil demand lift

World demand for oil will rise by 1.89% to 84.64m bpd in 2006, according to Opec's monthly report for February. This is a 0.05% downward revision of its January report. It predicts demand in China will increase by 6% to 6.94m bpd, and by 1.38% to 25.81m bpd in the US.
