Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) recently hosted the second meeting of the IP and Innovation Forum of Jordan (I2FJ).
This forum was based upon the recommendations made at the Technology Commercialization Program's (TCP) last workshop, which was organized in cooperation with Royal Scientific Society and the Higher Council for Science and Technology.

During the forum's proceedings, issues pertaining to the concept of intellectual property were discussed in great detail. The Jordan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA), the Licensing Executive Committee (LES), and the Princess Sumaya National Entrepreneurship Competition (PSNEC) were seen as major forces working for the purpose of raising the level of intellectual property awareness and nurturing Innovation. During the discussions, the spread of intellectual property rights within the national industrial scene was deemed an issue of great importance, for the spread of such a concept was predicted to foster industrial innovation and technical commercialization.

The idea of having a national forum was to gather all parties working in the field of innovation and IP in Jordan to promote discussion and debate amongst them, and to provide a platform where each party's effort in this field is built upon others rather than duplicating their work or overlapping with it.

Throughout the forum, PSUT took on the role of host and supporter for entrepreneurship development in Jordan and the region at large. As a pioneering learning institution, PSUT takes upon itself to embody and support any innovative initiative promising a better future for the nation and the region. In the presence of a large base of prominent attendees from both the public and private sectors in the country, PSUT was able to represent its cause and its mission in an impressive and inspirational light. All this in line with PSUT's mission to become the MIT of the Middle East.
