Air Arabia posts $8.7m profit

Sharjah Government's discount carrier Air Arabia has reported a $8.7m profit for 2005 compared with breakeven in 2005, and boosted passenger numbers by 122% to 1.1m last year. The airline now serves 23 destinations and operated 90% more flights than in 2004 at 9,412. CEO Adel Ali said our competitive strength is clearly demonstrated by these spectacular results, despite continued rising fuel prices.
