EIDA to participate in the Card Technology & Strategies World Congress 2006 in Malaysia

A delegation from the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) will represent the UAE at the Card Technology & Strategies World Congress 2006, to be held March 20-21 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The EIDA delegation will also visit with officials of the Malaysian ID Project, in order to gain knowledge from the Malaysian experience, and to discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation and coordination between the two countries in this field.
The EIDA delegation will be headed by H.E. Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director General, and also include Ali Khouri, Manager of the Systems and IT Department and Mohammad Massaoud Al Mazrouie, Manager of the Al Mushrif Registration Center in Abu Dhabi.
"This participation highlights the good reputation of the UAE in the field of IT and its applications in identification cards. Moreover, it signifies the importance of the Public Register and National ID Card project, which is considered one of the most significant IT projects in the Middle East", said Al Dhaheri.
"It is a chance to further introduce our project to the international community as the world congress provides an ideal platform for decision makers and world wide expertise to meet and discuss the latest developments in the field", he added.
Al Dhaheri will present a paper entitled, "UAE National ID project: Where IT and Ambition Meets". The paper showcases the objectives of the Population Register and National ID Card project and the continuing progress of the project. The paper will also focus on the UAE Federal Government's expectations of the project and how the latest information technology will assist in fulfilling these expectations.
