eCompany protects Al Shamil subscribers

eCompany, the Internet services and ICT arm of Etisalat today announced the availability of the latest version of eCompany's Secure Desktop Services for 2006 which is powered by Symantec for its Al Shamil broadband subscribers free of charge.
These products which are provided free of charge to all Al Shamil subscribers can be downloaded by visiting www.ecompany.ae/security or accessing their account online at www.ecompany.ae/managemyaccount.
The latest version of the Secure Desktop service now gives subscribers improved Alerts in terms of serious virus outbreaks and adjusts their security settings accordingly. It also inspects their computer for security holes with one click. In addition, it also detects and removes dangerous spyware, keystroke loggers, and other unwanted monitoring software apart from preventing spyware programs from hijacking the existing home page and redirecting them to their download sites.
Abdulla Hashim, Senior Manager, eCompany said: "The introduction of the latest version of the Secure Desktop Service is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the online experience of our valued Al Shamil subscribers by giving them the best protection available in the industry today against the threat of viruses, spyware and spam."
