The first award designation went to Mitel Navigator, a breakthrough communications device that radically enhances the meaning of voice, video and data convergence on the desktop. With an entirely new form factor, the sleek design of the Navigator fits neatly under a flat screen monitor and can be personally tailored for specific horizontal and vertical market applications.
Using the Navigator keypad or a mouse, users can invoke telephony features such as ACD functionality, hot-desking, call history or launch PC-based or office-based software applications providing users with flexibility, choice and customization.
Mitel was also recognized for its advanced messaging solution. The Mitel Messaging Server provides enterprises with enhanced access and control over communications. Through features such as multilingual auto-attendant, voicemail, text-to-speech, fax mail and wireless device support, the Messaging Server Platform offers a myriad of options for enterprise users to retrieve and manage messages.
"Mitel has always been at the forefront of the design and development of innovative communications solutions that enhance the user experience and streamline business functions," said Ron Wellard, vice-president research and development, Mitel. "The receipt of these awards from such a well-recognized publication reinforces Mitel's leadership position in the IP industry."
"Each year INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements," said Rich Tehrani, Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY. 'The Product of the Year Award winners for 2005 is another industry recognition of Mitel's innovation and success in reflecting global market trends. The award is equally very assuring for the early adopters in the ME region and specifically for those who recently chose the Mitel Navigator and other related applications in the region as soon as became available after Gitex 05,'
commented Hisham Amili, Mitel GM, GCC.
