Services covering catering, wedding venues, wedding entertainment including traditional dance troops, sound and light services, car and limousine rental, and photography and video, besides travel agencies, home furnishings and appliances, and banking services, are also being showcased at the event.
Some of the unique items that are on display at the Perfect Wedding Show are hand-made wedding items, particularly for the bride, From Turkey, embroidered traditional dresses from UAE, jewellery and evening dresses from Lebanon, and specially made Moroccan Koftan worn on occasions like Henna nights and Eid, among others.
'The Perfect Wedding Show is an ideal exhibition to visit for soon to be married couples and their families who are in search of innovative products and ideas to make the wedding day a memorable affair,' said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director General of Expo Centre Sharjah.
'The event is a one-stop platform for sourcing the complete requirements of a wedding and is aimed at meeting the growing demands of today's generation who are keen to retain their traditions and culture while maintaining a modern image and feel during their weddings,'
he added.
Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa also commented on the growing Middle East market for wedding related products and services.
'The regional market for wedding related products and services is huge and is currently estimated at around USD $ 2 to 3 billion,' said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa.
'The market is ever expanding and there is tremendous potential for both local as well as international manufacturers and suppliers engaged in this industry. The Perfect Wedding Show is the correct platform for manufacturers and suppliers of wedding related products and services to tap this expanding market,' he said.
It is estimated that within the UAE alone, 25,000 marriages take place annually. The budget of an Emirati marriage is among the highest in the region.
A major attraction of the Perfect Wedding Show is the dedicated Asian Wedding Pavilion, which predominantly focuses on the various contemporary trends of Asian traditional weddings and primarily targets the Asian expatriate communities in the GCC region.
The Asian Wedding pavilion has been organised by APEX Creations, an India-based consultancy firm that partners conceptualised events with exhibition organisers in the Middle-East and around the world, and is sponsored by the world's largest matrimonial service provider - Shaadi.com.
The pavilion is featuring the entire range of Asian traditional wedding related products, services, as well as the current trends from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Hand made gold jewellery with precious stones like Sapphire from Sri Lanka, and traditional Indian wedding dresses are a must see at the pavilion.
Besides exhibiting wedding products and services, the Perfect Wedding Show is also hosting several professionally choreographed daily fashion shows, projecting both contemporary and traditional styles.
Among the famous designers who are participating in the fashion shows are Mohammad Zain El Din from Lebanon, and UM Zabia from the Dubai-based Old Heritage House, a reputed fashion house.
While Mohammad will unveil several of his latest collections of evening and wedding dresses during the show, Zabia will focus on both traditional as well as modern wear covering both evening as well as bridal wear.
Another crowd puller at these shows will be the display of Shaila and Abaya by Dubai's Hanayan, a name well known for its traditional Arabic women's wear.
Besides fashion shows, lectures on the latest trends in make up by internationally well-known make up artist Maik Fawaz has also been lined up.
The Perfect Wedding Show is open for ladies only from February 21-23, 2006, between 10 am to 4 pm, and for general public from February 21-24, 2006, between 4 pm to 10 pm. Entry to the Show is free and all visitors are eligible to win gold bars, evening dress material, and special wedding material, through raffle draws.
Fashion shows are scheduled daily at 7 pm and 8.30 pm.
The Perfect Wedding Show is being organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
