Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mark Simpkins, General Manager and In-country Director, BAE SYSTEMS Bahrain said,
"We are thrilled to be involved in this prestigious event for a second year running. Through this event, we are supporting the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in developing equestrian sport as well as his ambition to see Bahraini Youth practising this traditional art, which is closely linked to the heritage and history of the Kingdom of Bahrain."
In a tribute to Sheikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Mark Simpkins wished condolences to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on behalf of BAE Systems and said, "We know that Sheikh Faisal's passion for equestrian sport was unmatched, and are confident that his memory will leave a lasting impression on those currently pursuing sporting ambitions in the Kingdom, as well as Bahrain's future youth and athletes."
Simpkins went on to add, "Since BAE SYSTEMS first established a presence in Bahrain, the company has welcomed the opportunity to give back to the community it serves. Because of our strong commitment to Bahrain, we have decided to actively take part in this event for the second consecutive year. This is a highly esteemed event, both in Bahrain and abroad, and we feel it is a perfect vehicle to show our support for our partners."
Officially inaugurated in April 2003, the BAE SYSTEMS' Bahrain office was established to support all the company's activities in the Kingdom, including the contract awarded by the Bahrain Defence Force, for the establishment of its indigenous Flying Training School.
"We look upon our work in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the development of its Flying Training School among others, as a partnership which will bring out the best in both of us," concluded Simpkins.
