His most recent position was as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for the Africa region, where his role included overseeing all sales and marketing functions for the Group's four properties in Lusaka, Asmara, Libreville and Nairobi. Walwyn established strong relationships with local and foreign tour operators developing the Tour & Travel volume in Nairobi by an additional 6,500 room nights in 2004. By implementing a cohesive and highly successful regional marketing and sales strategy, Walwyn was able to improve both market share and RGI performance in Nairobi from number 4 to number 2 year-on-year.
