Steven Miller joins FXFOWLE as Director, International

FXFOWLE ARCHITECTS, well known for its innovative design and diversity of practice, has announced the appointment of Steven W. Miller FAIA, RIBA as Director, International.

Working closely with FXFOWLE principals, Mr. Miller will help expand FXFOWLE's international portfolio from a representative office in Dubai. The team is currently designing two high-rise residential towers in Bombay, India, a new international educational campus in Abu Dhabi, a mixed-use master plan in Moscow, and two invited competitions for 100-story buildings.

"Steven is an outstanding professional with superb skills in design, planning, and management, and his understanding of the international marketplace is an asset to us as well as our clients," said Daniel Kaplan, senior principal of FXFOWLE.

An American Urban Planner, Architect, and Real Estate Developer, most of Mr. Miller's work over the past thirty-eight years has been in the planning, implementation, and design of hotels, resorts, and mixed-use urban structures, many with residential, retail and office components. Before joining FXFOWLE, he was a consultant for Emaar Corporate Office, the Middle East's largest developer, as a Director of Design and Development Director, doing work in Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan.

As a professional world travel, hotel, retail, and residential use expert, Mr. Miller has had residences in 18 countries and has substantial understanding of working under local cultural and administrative norms. The majority of his work has been overseas, including Czech Republic, Kiev, the Ukraine, United Kingdom, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Morocco, and China.

A Fellow of the AIA, recognized for his historic preservation works, he is a past President of the American Institute of Architect's Continental European Chapter, and is currently on the Chapter's Board of Directors, a member of the European Chapter of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, International Real Estate Institute, and of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Mr. Miller was educated at Columbia University in New York and the University of Colorado. He is a registered architect in New York, California, Nevada, and Alaska and has NCARB certification.
