DTCM set to woo larger number of tourists from Europe

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in its unfaltering endeavour to promote Dubai as the leading leisure tourism and trade destination in the world, led a strong delegation to Italy for BIT 2006 and Holiday World, Prague.
The exhibition boasts of the largest pre-eminent international representation with its success confirmed by the attendance of 5,000 exhibitors, 100,000 professional visitors and 46,000 travellers from 120 countries.
The DTCM delegation at BIT 2006 was led by Mr. Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb, DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mr. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Acting Manager of the Dubai Cruise Terminal, Mr. Udaya Indrarathna, DTCM Senior Manager Operations and Marketing and Mr.Salah Al Geziry, Deputy Manager, Overseas Promotions.
The DTCM also made an impressive showing at the Holiday World 2006 at Prague in the Czech Republic from February 23-26. The Holiday World is a significant travel and tourism fair in Central Europe and this is the 8th year that the DTCM is participating at the event.
The DTCM delegation was represented by Mr. Khalifa Ali Buamiam, Manager, Overseas Promotions and Mr. Udaya Indrarathna, Senior Manager, Overseas Promotions.
Mr. Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb said :"The DTCM has started 2006 with a very strong marketing strategy to woo larger number of international tourists. In 2005, the total number of international tourists totalled at 6 million."
"The two travel and tourism fairs where DTCM participated were among the most important ones to attract tourists from Europe," he added.
