Dr. B.S. Chidamber, Specialist Ophthalmologist & Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Welcare Hospital and Welcare Ambulatory Care Centre located at Knowledge Village, warned the university audience about unhealthy practices common among students that lead to eye strain.

In his presentation called "Care for your Eyes", Dr. Chidamber talked about the harm caused by long hours staring at computer or TV screens, reading in poorly lit areas and the appropriate use of contact lenses. He also addressed eye illnesses and avenues for treatment.

The presentation, held at the University of Wollongong, Dubai, was part of an ongoing series of Health Awareness talks being held at different institutions. The Knowledge Village Students Council had recently initiated similar health related lecture programs as a way to bring useful medical information to those studying in the Free Zone and help them stay safe and healthy.
