Total UAE Internet connections, including high-speed internet access, crossed the half million mark during the year, reported Etisalat. Mobile connections reached 4.5m lines, a 23% increase over 2004. This service has remained the main contributor to revenue, with a share of 58% during the year and nearly 100% penetration. Fixed lines also saw a marginal growth of 4% to reach 1.2m installed lines.
