RJ's membership in oneworld alliance necessitates a revenue accounting system that is fully compliant with the alliance's requirements, one that allows and facilitates electronic data exchange between RJ and oneworld members, on the one hand, and between RJ and International Air Transport Association (IATA) members, on the other hand. Adopting the Sirax system will fulfill this need and help the airline make optimum use of quality reporting options. It will be provided under a licensing model with a five-year maintenance contract.
"We hold Lufthansa Systems in high regard," said President/CEO Samer Majali at the signing ceremony. "This is not the first time we deal with Lufthansa Systems, and we are looking for further cooperation. The agreement signifies the first step in a long-term collaboration to optimize Royal Jordanian's IT systems. We are convinced that Lufthansa Systems is the ideal partner for us," he added.
Gero von Goetz, senior vice president sales-EMEA at Lufthansa Systems, said it is important for Lufthansa Systems to associate with RJ because the Jordanian airline is known for its high standards.
"The state-of-the-art software is an effective technological system that provides an ideal information base for all control systems, revenue accounting and economic benefits. With Sirax, the airline's revenue accounting delivers precise and comprehensive planning and controlling of information that becomes the basis for management decisions. RJ is the first air carrier in the region to use this system. We hope that it will be our key to boost our operations in the Middle East."
"Sirax," its designers say, "is highly flexible, user friendly and cost efficient. It meets all the current and future needs in one single system. It functions much faster than the older systems, replacing the manual with the automated methods and increasing the accuracy and reliability of the accounting system."
Lufthansa Systems is one of the leading IT service providers for airline and aviation industries worldwide. As systems integrator, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group covers the entire range of IT services, including consulting, development, implementation and operation.
