TV programme to offer excellent showcase of Dubai

The huge popularity of Dubai in Germany, largely due to the efforts of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and the rising status of the emirate on the world tourism map has prompted famous German television personality, Ms. Sabine Christiansen, to produce one of her worldwide talk shows on the CNBC TV out of Dubai.

She held talks with the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, during a visit to the DTCM Head Office recently. Accompanying her was the DTCM Germany office director, Ms. Mara Kaselitz, and DTCM Manager Missions, Mr. Hamad bin Mejren.

The CNBC TV- Debates 'Global Players with Sabine Christiansen' is due for broadcast in 2006.The international production will be undertaken by Ms. Sabine Christiansen in tandem with CNBC and will be produced at least once out of Dubai, bringing to Dubai VIPs and significant political personalities from different parts of the world.

The English language talk show is expected to reach out to more than 340 million households in 101 countries and will be in the same format of Germany's leading weekly political television show titled 'Sabine Christiansen' which has an outreach of five million viewers in Germany.

Personalities who have played crucial roles in shaping global politics and economy will be featured in the new international TV programme.

She said:

'I have been to the UAE many, many times in the last 14 years. This region has become (a source) of great interest for Europe and the international business community. That's why we are intending to produce one of our new worldwide CNBC TV Debates. During this visit I had a lot of inspiring talks with the government and high-ranking business personalities to prepare this important TV-event.'
