Given notice to the role of human resources in the development processes: Dr. Lolwa Al Misned closes a specialized course for QP & Kahrama

Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting has closed the training course in Economic Models with Business Forecasting, which was held in its premises in Doha between 16th January - 23rd February, 2006.

The course was specially held for trainees from Qatar Petroleum and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahrama).

H.E. Dr. Al-Misned, Assistant Secretary General for Industrial & Economic Research & Industrial Investment Promotion handed over the certificates to the trainees. On this occasion, H.E. delivered a speech in which she assured the importance of the specialized training courses which GOIC presents to the industrial sector and their positive effects on the efficiency level and quality.

"Awareness is increased every day with regards to the role of human resources in the development processes, and the concept of training and development of human resources are handled with great importance on the part of the officials in the reputable parties in GCC, amongst them comes Qatar Petroleum and Kahrama, as some of their staff have participated in the subject course," Dr. Al Misned reported.

H.E. has also commended the tendencies of the officials in the industrial sector in GCC in the field of training and she assured the promptness of GOIC to hold specialized courses in the different industrial fields. Furthermore, Dr. Al Misned has also called for giving more importance to developing capacities and training especially as far as SMEs are concerned; as they constitute a large share of the industrial sector in GCC.

In its turn, the course has included several lectures handling different subjects presented by experts from GOIC covering the models' targets, economic forecasting, data types, models' types, modeling specifications and their work in reference to future expectations, diagnosing tests, economic problems, simulation and evaluation techniques and other related issues.

It is worth mentioning that the 2006 training program and capacities building of GOIC, include assistance in evaluating the needs of industrial training in the field of transformational industry in the GCC in cooperation with the specialized parties in addition to offering help in setting up a base for deploying technology and rapidly changing globalization.
