GCC gold consumption booms

UAE gold consumption for jewellery and investment increased from 96 tonnes in 2004 to 106 tonnes last year, reported the World Gold Council. In neighboring Saudi Arabia gold consumption was up 13% to 160 tonnes while the rest of the Gulf's gold consumption increased by 4% to 52 tonnes in 2005.
