Oman LNG and Oman Refinery to participate in OGWA Oil & Gas Show 2006

Now on its fifth edition, Oil & Gas West Asia (OGWA) is the only exhibition in Oman that showcases the latest projects of national oil companies in the GCC as well as the services offered by international oil and gas equipment manufacturers. The exhibition, which is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil and Gas, will give prominence to major developments in the industry, and it will also feature many new technologies for sustaining the industry's future growth.

"We look forward to our participation in OGWA 2006 this April to show our company's operations and expertise in LNG production," said Ali Al Hashar, Acting Corporate Affairs Manager at Oman LNG.

Oman LNG is a joint venture company between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and other international investors. Established by a Royal Decree in 1994, the company is tasked with liquefying Oman's natural gas to serve the LNG requirements of international customers. As part of its social development initiatives, Oman LNG is also actively involved in the training of Omani youth.

Oman Refinery Company (ORC) is responsible for supplying all types of petroleum products to the local market. Formed vide a Royal Decree number 7/82 on February 6th 1982, ORC started to produce 50,000 bpd to cover the domestic demand. Later, it was modified in 2001 and is currently refining 85,000 bpd. This move was in response to the rising demand for refined products by industrial, commercial, and individual users.

"We are increasing our production capacity and adding new facilities to keep in step with Oman's continued economic development," stressed Salim bin Awadh Al-Rubkhi, Manager for Administration and Public Relations at ORC. "OGWA 2006 will give us the opportunity to highlight the exciting developments in our company," he added.

Many other local and international oil & gas companies, equipment suppliers and distributors have already confirmed their participation in OGWA 2006. Growing numbers of industry professionals have also signed up to attend the Middle East Energy Forum, the major conference that will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
