Jordinvest enhances financial investment opportunities in the region

Jordinvest made a notable presence for itself at the first regional Middle East IPO Summit as associate sponsor and panel participant. Jordinvest was represented by several members of its team, all of whom came from different departments within the firm. The event was held in Dubai between February 25th and February 28th 2006.

Jordinvest's Executive Vice President/Corporate Finance, Mr. Hani Al Ali, participated at the event's proceedings on a panel discussion revolving around the gaps formed between the letter of the law and actual practice within the regional financial sector. Through his participation he discussed the laws and regulations that should be implemented within the regional financial markets in order to ensure more security for investors, along with more efficient and productive dealings within the financial markets.

Mr. Al Ali stated at the panel while discussing the formulation of regulations in Jordan, "The laws and regulations exist to protect the markets, eliminate the financial legal gaps and aims to formulate sound policies that will benefit and protect the investor. In the past years the relationship between companies and regulators has been positive and serious efforts have been made by both parties to address any gaps in the system. Now in Jordan, we have a great opportunity to work within the system where we are given the chance to participate in the formulation of regulations that govern the securities market in Jordan."
