Each Roberto Cavalli fashion phone features a unique hand-printed animal pattern and reflects the one-of-a-kind designs of Roberto Cavalli. Only 1089 mobile phones will be manufactured globally.
Since its launch the super-slim 3G LG-U880 music phone has received excellent reviews from the global media. The handset was recognized as 'The Best in Test' by leading Swedish handset magazine 'Mobile', while the prestigious pan-Asian, Hong Kong based daily South China Morning Post, described the U880 as a visible improvement on 3G phones in terms of size.
"The launch of the LG-U880 special edition reflects our leading position in 3G not only with advanced technology but also with design," said K. W. Kim, President, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa Operations. "The unique Roberto Cavalli design will undoubtedly be an irresistible attraction for all fashion lovers and trendsetters and accelerate sales."
He added:
"With the launch of this premium model, our goal is to position LG mobiles as premium buys. As the undisputed leader of the 3G market, LG Electronics will continue to produce cutting edge technology and design, backed by its world class R&D facilities and design capabilities. We are targeting sales of US$300 million in handsets in the Middle East and Africa region this year; globally we expect to register a 50 percent growth to seize the number three spot in handsets in two years".
The LG-U880 is only 18.2mm thick and equipped with sophisticated multimedia features to suit fashion-conscious consumers. Thanks to the phone's large memory capacity, users can store more than 20 MP3 songs. The model also supports a 1.3 mega-pixel camera, video telephony, T-Flash external memory and Bluetooth.
The limited edition U880 has been simultaneously launched in 7 countries including the UK, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong and Australia. Earlier in December, LG Electronics released a limited edition of its U8360 model designed by Cavalli, offering only 999 units in Italy, which proved to be a runaway success.
