DTCM signs agreement with IRCICA to promote Islamic art, culture and heritage

In a bid to jointly promote Islamic art, culture and heritage the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) signed an agreement with the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) Istanbul, to organise annual Arabic calligraphy exhibitions in Dubai.

The agreement was signed between the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem and Dr. Eren Khalid from IRCICA at the DTCM Head Office today (February 28). The DTCM Manager, Events Mr. Marwan bin Beyat and Dr. Mohammed Al Tamimi, Manager Heritage Sites, IRCICA also attended the signing ceremony.

According to the new agreement the date and venue of the exhibition and the accompanying workshops will be confirmed after mutual discussions between the two parties. The IRCICA on its part will coordinate with the calligraphers from different countries.

The DTCM and IRCICA will also cooperate with each other to promote Islamic art, culture and heritage though different exhibitions. The IRCICA will not be allowed to participate in any other exhibitions without the prior approval of the DTCM.
