KIA sales in UAE rise 43.8 per cent in February 2006

Al Majid Motors Co. (Member of Juma Al Majid Group), the sole distributor for Kia vehicles in the UAE announced today the year-on-year retail sales increase of 43.8 per cent, for the month of February 2006.

By segment, the Passenger Cars sales for Al Majid Motors Co. over this period have increased 45.9% while recreational vehicles (RV) sales increased (4WD & Family Vans) 105.1%.

The continued strong sales of the popular Sportage compact SUV along with other stellar sellers including the recently launched all-new B-segment Rio sedan along with hatchback and the C-segment Cerato all together contributed 50.7% of the total sales which helped Al Majid Motors Co. to attain this robust performance in February 2006. The sales of passenger cars contributed 62.8% of the total sales and recreational vehicles and light commercial vehicles contributed 41.4% and 9.5% respectively during this period.

"We have been registering a steady monthly retail sales increase since February 2005 and we are confident that this momentum will go further with the expected launch of the all new family van Carnival and the D-segment Optima within this month", said Mr. Samir Tayeh, General Manager of Al Majid Motors Co.
